BLUE JAYS’ VARSITY CROSS COUNTRY HAVE SUCCESSFUL START AT RIVERSIDE

The Jackson-Milton Varsity Cross Country teams headed to Painesville Riverside to compete in the HOKA
Kickoff Classic XC Showcase facing tough competition consisting mainly of D1-D3 schools. The boys’ race
had 326 competitors while the girls had 314.
Addison Ferenczy started off the night in the girls’ black division race running a very steady 34:13.62
(305 th ) place finish.
Nora Schwarten and Abby Bueno competed in the girls’ gold division. Nora had a solid 37 th place finish
while Abby ran a career personal best time of 21:54.53 for a 66 th place finish.
The boys’ team finished 22 nd out of 43 teams (637 points). Benjamin Bacorn (89 th ) led the time with a
career PB of 18:29.04 followed closely by Landon Fortunato (105 th ) and a career PB of 18:46.43. Nate
Craver (117 th ) crossed the line next for the Blue Jays followed by all first-year runners seeing their first
varsity competition Cleyten Graham (125 th ), Jonny Bacon (217 th ), Wesley Schwarten (237 th ) and Joshua
Theis (309 th ).
The team will head to the Trumbull County Fairgrounds on Thursday, August 29 th to compete at The
Oscar Grant Invitational.
