BLUE JAYS’ MIDDLE SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY HAVE SUCCESSFUL SEASON OPENER
The Jackson-Milton Middle School Cross Country teams headed to Painesville Riverside to
compete in the HOKA Kickoff Classic XC Showcase facing tough competition consisting mainly of
D1-D3 schools. The boys’ race had 406 competitors while the girls had 340.
The girls’ team ran first and finished 17 th out of 31 teams (501 points). 3 runners placed in the
top 70 led by Cora Dean (57 th ) followed closely by Gabby Clegg (66 th ) and Skilyn Fortsch (70 th ).
Ayla Moser (212 th ) and Ava Tallman (272 nd ) rounded out the top 5 finishers while Rebecca Bayer
(278 th ) and Mackenzie McCutcheon (287 th ) closed out the top 7 scoring. MacKenzie
McCutcheon also had a career PB time of 20:06.75. Also competing on the girls’ side was
Dalylah Tallman (316 th ) and Isabella Tallman (322 nd ).
On the boys’ side the team finished 20 th out of 39 teams (406 points). Leading the way was Otis
Fishtorn who ran a career best time with a very impressive 11 th place finish in 11:28.59. Colton
Graham (106 th ), Leo Franko (117 th ), Jackson Clegg (135 th ) and Roman Cracraft (161 st ) had nice
races while Mason Freeman (187 th ) and Jacob Black (212 th ) closed out the teams’ top 7 scoring.
Justin Clegg (319 th ) closed out the boys’ team.
The team will head to the Trumbull County Fairgrounds on Thursday, August 28 th to compete
against another tough field in the Oscar Grant Invitational.
